Delegation 2025

We are proud to be organizing our second annual delegation that brings Palestinian people from the greater Toronto area up to Treaty 3 homelands to build deeper practices of joint struggle and responsibility between Anishinaabe and Palestinian communities.

Last year, we brought 15 people to Treaty 3 homelands over the course of 7 days to learn about settler colonialism in Treaty 3, to connect with Elders and knowledge keepers through ceremony, and to share our beautiful homelands with our Palestinian kin. Some highlights of this delegation include doing ceremony together, building a lodge for our Elder, and visiting the Grassy Narrows blockade. This year, we are returning to our commitments to this work and are centering the youth. We will have 6 spots explicitly for young people ages 16 - 21 who would like to join us.

We are welcoming applications from Palestinian folks living in the greater Toronto area of all ages, as well as youth, who are interested in furthering this work. There is a separate application process for youth, and we welcome co-applications if a relative would like to accompany a youth on this delegation. This year’s delegation will be 7 days long, and will begin in Thunder Bay, ON and end in Winnipeg, MB. During this time, people can expect to camp, fish, do ceremony, and connect with Anishinaabe elders and knowledge keepers who believe in connected liberation for both of our communities.

Our inclusion of Palestinian and Anishinaabe youth will be built on the work of the Indigenous Youth Residency program, a land-based residency for Indigenous youth to learn about settler colonialism and artistic practice through Anishinaabe worldviews. Youth who attend the delegation can expect regular check-ins, a cohort-based approach to their participation in the delegation, and engagement with facilitators who both have tremendous experience running youth programming in anti-colonial and liberatory ways.
